Oddly enough, all I was to do is see one once in a campaign that is just an innocent little infantile beasty. But, this entire idea has me really excited, and I've been unable to forget about it ever since I first learned what a beholder was. Honestly, I know very little about beholders.

One big eye full of innocence and wonder as it watches the party with excitement hoping that they will throw it's favorite toy so that it may fetch it and bring it back to them. A large tongue lolling out of its mouth as it pants like a little puppy dog.

Little eyestalks that aren't fully developed or lethal yet, but will someday fully form into instruments of destruction and utter chaos. I mean, I've been imagining this adorable little awkwardly hovering spherical beasty with puppy-adjacent behaviors. Do they begin their lives, like almost every other living thing, as babies? You always see beholders as this extremely old magically masterful and excessively powerful abberation.
